Is BrentSwap a DEX or a centralised exchange?

A bit of both. Login uses a blockchain wallet signature and deposits and withdrawals are on-chain transfers on Base (that half is the DEX approach); order matching after you submit runs on the platform backend (that half is the centralised approach). So the accurate description is "an on-chain settled exchange" — see the DEX and swap page for the full explanation.

Account and login

How do I log in?

Two ways. One is a blockchain wallet signature: the signature only proves account ownership, it never starts a transfer and cannot read your private key or seed phrase. The other is registering with an email or phone number plus a password, which suits people who do not hold a wallet yet.

What does KYC require?

For compliance and anti-money-laundering reasons: your real name, country or region, document type and number, front and back images of the document (passport: the data page only, 10MB per image), and a compliance questionnaire covering annual income, source of funds, investment experience and risk rating. A human reviews it; ordering and withdrawals are disabled while the review is pending and re-enabled automatically after approval. Rejections state the reason, and you can resubmit after fixing the details.

Trading

When does a perpetual get liquidated?

When margin falls to the maintenance level the position is closed at the liquidation price, the fill is that price, and the most you can lose is that position's margin.

When does a delivery contract settle?

At the delivery time, at the delivery settlement price. New positions stop being opened two hours before delivery.

What is the difference between a transfer and a conversion?

A transfer moves the same money between your spot, perpetual, options, delivery and earn balances without changing the currency or realising PnL. A conversion exchanges one coin for another at market and charges the conversion rate.

Why was my order rejected?

The usual causes are insufficient balance, exceeding a position limit, an incomplete token approval, or KYC not yet approved. Check the order panel summary and the assets page.

Deposits, withdrawals and C2C

How do I deposit?

Open Assets → Deposit, pick the coin and the network, then copy the address or scan the QR code. Always use the exact network the page shows; funds sent on the wrong network cannot be recovered.

How long do withdrawals take and what do they cost?

Requests are usually processed within 5–30 minutes. The fee comes from the withdrawal rate under Trading settings → Fees and is deducted from the amount: what arrives = requested amount − fee (when a minimum fee applies, the larger of the two is used).

How does C2C work?

Open C2C, pick a sell order and place it; the order opens a chat with the seller. The buyer pays offline and taps "I have paid", then the seller verifies and releases the coins to the buyer's spot account.

Risk and other questions

Is trading risky?

Yes. Contract trading is leveraged, and sharp moves can wipe out the whole margin. Historical annualised returns on earn products do not predict future returns. Check your own risk tolerance first and only use funds you can afford to lose.

Which languages does BrentSwap support?

Traditional Chinese, English, Korean and Japanese. You can switch at any time in settings without affecting account data.

This page is for information only and is not investment advice. Leveraged trading can lose your entire margin.
